Email flagging AND push for gmail

anybody know getting gmail setup push , being able flag/star emails?

when gmail (google apps) account setup imap, can flag emails, , synchronizes gmail account without problem.

thrilled when discovered setup gmail exchange account , push.

but, found out hard way flagging doesn't synchronize when setup exchange.

reading forums , looking online, looks known issue. but, want check , see if has ideas.

looks push or flagging, not both. bummer!
