New iPad in Australia.

so new ipad has 4g isn't compatible australia's 4g network.
stupid question, still work on australia's 3g network?
can't find answer anywhere.

yes still work backwards compatible. when optus deploys 4g network later year, support frequency , 4g work on it. telstra uses 1800mhz, new ipad not support 4g on telstra time being.
