Facebook keeps sending push notifications even though I've turned them off!

can rather annoying problem?

have turned push notifications off facebook in settings, keeps sending me them, when not logged in , have 'switched off' facebook app.

suggestions please!

 

just guessing, maybe kill background...maybe still doing sits in memory.
