hi all,
has had experience early 2009 17" macbook pro (macbookpro5,2) , sata iii (6gbps) ssd?
i've read issues 15" , 13" models forcing sata (1.5gbps) due sata cable funkiness. also, owc's electra 6g line apparently forces sata macbookpro5,x line (they call out 15" model, mention macbookpro5,2 model identifier). otherwise, there doesn't seem solid info on 17" model (which, iirc, did not experience same sata cable issues 15" , 13" ones).
since of newer ssd's coming out use sata iii (6gbps), wondering if drive run @ sata ii (3 gbps), max supported nvidia chipset, or if force sata i.
yes, aware sata iii should backward compatible , automatically switch sata ii if connected chipset supports sata ii. have seen anecdotal evidence saying drop down sata particular macbook pro series. want know if has experienced scenario.
thanks!
