Simple rsync for backing up a file tree exactly

hi all, totally new rsync.

here's setup @ office:

10-15 employees backing once day drobo raid (about 2tb used backups) connected mac mini server.

want use rsync copy exact file tree of drobo nas connected linux pc offsite. know possible, obviously, noob @ rsync jargon.

please let me know if don't understand trying achieve.

first of all: try ccc. rsync nice gui.

but, commandline:

php:

rsync -az /volumes/drobo user@remote.com:drobo-copy

will 'archive' copy of /volumes/drobo folder called drobo-copy on remote.com using user useraccount.
