Yet another SSD/ram thread :)

so, last november bought mpb 13" base version (which me pretty mad, since revision came 1 month later) thinking upgrades. apple charges +200€ 8gb ram , 200€ ssd, totally unacceptable me pay this, so, knew cheaper prices outside , i'll

after researches, found out 8gbs me, since run vm, photoshop , programming, feeling 4gbs pushing me down, lag. question is, 40€ can crucial, g.skill , owc rams, don't know 1 better.

ssd, don't know 1 buy. need 120gb ssd - planning later buy thing substitute optical drive - found many options. crucial m4, ocz agility, corsair forceseries , others don't remember.

so, can help?

 

crucial, gskill , owc ram brands ram - have used both crucial , owc (currently have owc in mbp). ram wonders types of photoshop work...

start out getting 8gb of ram since price low , see how goes. later decide ssd - longer wait better price. ssd make computer boot faster , applications load instantaneously. ram applications load bit slower first time after close application reside in ram if open second time (assuming haven't shut down computer) load instantly. in case needed more space upgraded hard drive base 320gb, 5400 rpm drive 7200 rpm drive 750gb - make noticeable difference in performance can't compare ssd. if need plenty of storage 7200 rpm drive of @ least 500gb option. if want pure performance , don't need space ssd way go. can't comment on best owc has reputation.
