Reading/organizing PDFs on iPad vs. MacBook? (Sheet music, theory/history books)

hi!

i'm teacher , musician needs ipad advice. have big collection of various music theory books, sheet music , orchestral scores in pdf. have more practical experience using electronic sheet music while playing piano or listening music.
how reading pdf files on ipad work compared macbook pro/air?

i'm not familiar ios system, i'm wondering how easy organize folders , files on ipad. can group big collection of pdf files specified folders or groups, or having various htm text files on ipad opened in safari local bookmarks (i have offline version of entire new grove music encylopedia)?

also, ibooks provide clear , hq image of pdf files? notice on macbook adobe reader pro has more clearer pdf image quality, (mac) preview makes several of pdfs blurry.

don't have big budget these days, have weigh purchase carefully.
tips or advices appreciated.
