i partitioned hard drive bootcamp last week (100gb) , decided didn't want anymore, attempted remove partition. now, whenever start computer seems boot empty partition - black screen tells me insert disk (or of sort). reason default - have hold "option" key able boot mac side. looks need change default boot disk - on pc, don't know how on mac.
biggest problem, however, though got rid of second partition, haven't seemed 100gb. when go disk utility shows have 499.76gb capacity, 359.3gb available , 39.7gb used. (i assuming capacity should = available + used, other @ least close to) did other 100gb go , how can back?
used disk utility , did "verify disk" tool - , came no problems. i'm not able click "repair disk" button, tried use osx install disk disk repair, freezes , hear intermittent alarm beeps whenever try boot disk. checked ram , in snug , installed correctly. ran hardware test (bootup + "d"), , came fine.
i'm @ loss on do. computer runs absolutely fine other these 2 things.
(i bought imac last summer ('11) - 2.5ghz 12 gb ram, it's still under warranty...)
in advance,
mike
did use boot camp assistant remove windows partition?
make mac os x partition standard startup volume: system preferences > startup disk.
