i'll touring east coast in may , finishing in nyc before flying home europe. i've decided mac mini i'm confused 1 get. i'm not citizen & don't have credit card, have purchase authorised reseller or in apple store. @ moment i'm leaning towards b&h.
i'm pc user , have powerful, high end machine built myself. use machine gaming, converting music, videos etc. have 24" 1920x1200 dell monitor.
intention mini put itunes library onto , learn how use os x. in essence, plan use machine hub apple devices. (ipad, ipod) other that, won't used gaming, encoding etc. web browsing, office docs, watching vids playing music itunes etc etc.
being person looked @ mini specs point of view , decided on i7 2.7ghz cpu, 750gb 7200rpm hdd , amd 6630m gpu intention of upgrading 8gb of ram myself. option cost me $1048.95.
i've been thinking overkill (i've heard i7 running hot in mini) , i5 2.3ghz cpu 500gb hdd , intel 3000 gpu (for watching 1080p content) okay since won't using intensive work. option cost $568.95, big difference.
think better have 750gb hdd price differential between 2 ridiculous. considering wouldn't primary machine, take spare 2tb drive own , use in external enclosure provide additional storage mini.
can please give me opinions? , appreciated!
get cheapest mac can find. why upgrade if don't need it?
