Optimal internet connection speed for Apple TV?

i've been thinking apple tv media centre cheaper option mac mini - use ps3, i'd rent , buy stuff itunes.

however, live out in country, , our home broadband 4mb. apple tv uses icloud , has no internal storage, internet connection fast enough stream hd content itunes?

 

my guess not fast enough hd...
can stream hd youtube on connection?

download content on computer , stream across network though...
