My brand new iPhone 4S won't auto-focus

i bought iphone 4s last weekend , camera won't auto-focus on close objects. if press on screen want focus on won't focus @ , blurry, background of object focused well. iphone 4s jailbreaked , don't want restore bring apple store camera fix. there anyway fix this?

 

just how close objects trying focus on? optics have minimum focus distance , while iphone in regard, there still inability focus extremely close. 4s (non jailbroken) begins focus @ 6". how close yours?
