Help with shockwave??

hi im new , hope ive posted in right place...
have last years macbook pro , signed shockwave unlimited, used play when had pc , thought id give go kill boredom...
reason cannot seem downloaded games open or play on thing , driving me insane, surely macs cant backward? must me doing wrong... says have latest version of shockwave player/adobe... can me before trade in windows laptop plzzzzzz???
