Is the iPad really retina?

my friend keeps telling me it's not retina. not tech savy person said retina 300ppi , ipad 264, it's not "really" retina. retina iphone 4s. i'm confused

 

apple posted formula used calculate based on viewing distance , such. since hold ipad @ around 15" instead of 10" iphone, think 250 dpi sufficient achieve same visual acuity 10" @ 326 dpi.

doesn't matter @ end, it'll gorgeous. bet money won't able differentiate between 250 dpi, 300 dpi, or 326 dpi.

friend sounds uptight , needs laid.
