my macbook pro 4,1 (early 2008 model) not sleep after being left idle. screen turns off @ designated time, drive remains spinning , tap on touchpad brings computer alive -- drains battery substantially when leave idle without power source. sleep works hitting power button/closing lid. it's idle, lid open time won't sleep.
things have tried:
altering energy settings every degree
pram reset
smc reset
hard drive permission repair (success)
console not showing going on during idle time
here terminal log command "pmset -g assertions,"
assertion status system-wide:

cpuboundassertion 0
enableidlesleep 1
noidlesleepassertion 0
disableinflow 0

no assertions.
here terminal log command "pmset -g,"
active profiles:
battery power -1*
ac power -1
in use:
hibernatemode 3
halfdim 1
lidwake 1
acwake 0
sleep 10
disksleep 10
sms 1
hibernatefile /var/vm/sleepimage
ttyskeepawake 1
displaysleep 10
other things note:
made guest account , left computer idle , had same issue. however, booted safe mode , hard drive sleeps properly. i'm not sure how diagnose why safe mode fix problem.
if can shed light on topic, please do. appreciated, it's driving me nuts! thank you.
