Can't record more than a couple of tracks in GarageBand...

hi.

i'm having trouble recording more 3 or 4 guitar tracks in gb. when try , more message saying track couldn't played , check optimization pages in documents. i've followed suggestions (close other programmes, lock tracks etc) still manage 1 more short recording.

im using macbook pro (576 gb free on hd, 2.4 ghz, 4gb ram, 5400 rpm hd, 1333mhz)

i've seen people less powerful machines 40+ tracks, ideas i'm doing wrong?

you need lock tracks, it's virtual instruments, they're demanding more cpu have available, doesn't mean mac crap, i've had issue pop on mac pro, it's case of virtual effects run in real time effectively, in menu in garageband type in "lock" , it'll show lock track clickable, when track locked (obviously) can't make changes, , changes make have re-locked unless not necessary.
