Best practices when backing up your files

hi,

started using carbon copy cloner after using time machine solution. understand purpose of each application tm , cloner utility such super duper or ccc wondering best process when using these 2 methods backup files.

instance use tm files possible keep recent changes updated, don’t see how keep clone updated , make sure when happens have workable boot disk , not contains corrupted files. in other words think these cloner utilities have sort of feature keep clone drive updated every time changes got me wondering if update clone drive , reason 1 of updated file corrupted, without knowing if course, have backup contains bad files , may affect system (corrupted fonts files etc.) , when realized not working right in system may want recover clone end same problem because bad files backed up.

how ensure clone ready , not contain bad files?

backup process? kind , share method.

again, i’m ok tm need know how guys managing clone drives using ether super duper or carbon copy cloner.

lot!

i use time machine, provides document/file retrieval times messed up, , either deleted file/directory should not have or edited/saved on something. great , decent job full system restore find other alternatives better.

system using carbon copy cloner , use 2 separate external drives, first 1 normal clone, second 1 portable drive take offsite.

portable drive provides data protection incase happens house or computer.
