i plugged in appletv 3 yesterday, put in login info, time, etc, , works fine, unlike old appletv 2, keep light off unless being used, 1 keeps turning light on. it's hardwired in, no change on tv when occurs, no remotes being used, no airplay access device, nothing. light comes on 30 seconds, , goes out again.
managed catch doing once, , changed tv input appletv. there nothing on screen other "no signal."
know doesn't interfere operation of device, annoying seeing bright led come on @ random moments no apparent reason. notice if change input on tv appletv light come on too. atv2 didn't either.
now, activity led comes on when apple tv in use, tv changes inputs hdmi, , whenever gets bored.
i notice mine when turn myntv on or off , other functions on tv, , receiver. haven't noticed if when tv off due not being in room if tv isn't on.
