NSFileManager check for file or directory

quick question. checking see if directory exists on server. use nsfilemanager or nsurl? have been reading docs not sure if nsfilemanager can used check if files or directories exist @ give website?

not sure if nsfilemanager used internal computer / iphone file searching or if irreverent searches files, web or internal directories?

i don't think nsfilemanager can deal web @ all.
