IOS 5.1 takes a whopping 2.2 gb

thats lot. more , more i'm convinced 32gb minimum new ipad. can sure each subsequent ios update larger along bigger apps. apple shoulf have made 32 minimum instead if 16.

 

you're combining os size , formatted capacity.

ipad 3 firmware 5.1 ~1.1gb, lose little space when calculate how many gb's ipad is. (kind of how 1tb drive 931gb)
