sorry your text messaging service is currently unavailable due to insufficient funds

recently bought iphone 3gs, it's unlocked network.

- ever since activated it, keep getting error message saying

"sorry text messaging service unavailable due insufficient funds"

every couple of minutes! idea how stop error message popping up?
annoying hell out of me.

 

what network did activate on?
