Corrupted primary user account? / 10.6

i helping friend mac. experienced total freeze/crash , when boots, primary admin login keychain or account appears corrupted. when enter incorrect password, dialogue "shakes" per usual. when enters correct password goes endless loop blue screen , spinning "progress gear" (not beach ball) intermittently appearing , disappearing (and different shade of blue background).

helped him create new user account single user boot using terminal commands , can desktop , fine in new account.

there way delete old/corrupt login keychain from within new account, or otherwise restore original account?

naturally did disk repair , permissions repair.

 

perhaps more succinct question...

possible delete login keychain 1 admin account while logged different admin account?
