MacBook Pro is full... Need help with back up, clean up and set up of my home network


where begin problames i'm having!? have macbook pro os x 10.5.8, imac os x 10.5.8, 500gb time capsule, , iphone 4s. know enough of them myself trouble... , seems have done job @ messing up! bought imac , time capsule in 2008. time capsule didn't work backups start (although functions great router home network), , spent several hours on phone applecare, took genius bar etc., , still has not ever worked continuous background backup. did somehow manage acquire 1 backup of imac tc before did reboot of imac couple years ago. can access backup, im not sure if backup on time capsule or if saved on hd. furthermore, have backup (pretty sure it's partial backup) macbook pro, , don't know 1 stored either. macbook pro full not functioning , i'm afraid die. have subscribed both backblaze , crashplan... initial backblaze backup completed on macbook, don't have enough diskspace download crashplan. need both macs backed external hard drive , save backups have. trying start own photograghy business, setup can manage photos both macs , condusive storing , editing loads of photos. here questions...

1. can (and should i) both macs 1 external hard drive?

2. can use time capsule route wireless continuous backups macbook pro external hard drive or need have wired every time?

3. external hard drive best situation? raid best or overkill?

4. once safely backed up, best way hd space freed up?

5. how set drives i'm not using of internal hd space photos , music?

6. when have enough space upgrade os x lion, cloud make difference how photos managed?

know has been extensive, , frustrating of know your'e doing... time , patience!!
 

correct me if i'm wrong people think raid count overkill here?
