Set up iPod without email address

i'm buying 8 year old boy ipod touch, because likes play many kids games can on app store (angry birds, etc!)

doesn't own email account of kind question this: how set brand new ipod touch, can purchase apps using itunes vouchers(bought family & friends) opposed putting in email address has credit card linked it?

its not obvious. many people emails @ age. (not bash or applaud you!)

make email (they free) know password , use setup email.
