Any way to slow down Handbrake?

the question sounds stupid but...

let handbrake take care of batch-converting overnight while i'm sleeping. however, it's better lower cpu usage macbook air fan wouldn't running @ 5000+ rpm while i'm sleeping besides it.

there way allocate or throttle cpu usage? possible handbrake convert in slower , less cpu-intensive rate?
