Mini 2.5 ghz i5 dual core vs Mini server 2.0 ghz i7 quad core?

hey all

recent mac convert here. love integrated system in osx, , how works lion. still use windows, it's not same.

have question i'm sure guys can me with, friend purchased low end mac mini, 2.3 ghz dual core i5 2011. though around 600$ machine great, absolutely love it, , mini design beautifull, small , amazing.

myself have decided purchase mac mini next week, i'm torn between buying mid level or server mini. 1 better 2.5 ghz dual core i5 or 2.0 ghz quad core i7 server. upgrading ram 8gb purchas it, , plan use web design, photoshop, logic , garageband, word processing, , maybe video editing.

mini better, have 24' display in room , friend going sell me magic trackpad.

if i5 2.5 amd graphics, better intel 3000 in 2.3 base model or i7 server.

best bang performance standpoint mid level i7 upgrade, said, when level should hold against 21.5" imac refurb store. $899 mini new, versus $999 imac, , while imac isn't i7, it's i5 quad core instead of dual core. when you're getting keyboard/mouse/monitor $100 more starts become hard justify mini.
