PC to MacBook (TouchCopy)

ordered first mac yesterday. though expect pc laptop continue serve me while, use macbook sync idevices. after lot of reading today, keep getting directed touchcopy means not retain music, messages, emails, etc.

wondering other's experience touchcopy has been or if missed other means switch computers. btw: considering i've spent on idevices , macbook, surely don't mind spending $24.99(us) touchcopy.

i kind of think might easier manually move stuff. i'd do:

1) makes sure iphone logged , backed icloud , syncing everything. (in other words, make sure contacts, calendars, etc. turned 'on' in icloud.)

2) make sure macbook logged icloud , syncing everything. (so you'll see contacts , calendars in there.)

3) either on network (or fat32 usb drive), copy of itunes pc mac. make sure library, media files, , app files. use google find locations in both windows , mac.

4) in iphone's settings, erase phone. when restoring, pick "restore icloud backup." after it's done online part, plug , sync macbook. copy in music, videos, , apps couldn't online.

5) once it's totally synced, turn on 'sync on wifi' in iphone's overview page in itunes.

there other ways this, i'd in situation.
