what is randomly causing my optibay hdd to spin up

im sick of thing randomly spinning on me. spins when open dashboard. have istat installed hdd section turned off, why still spinning then?

have indexing turned off on hdd , have cocktail sleeping drive after 4 mins.

can't pinpoint whats making spin besides istat thing don't know why. when open finder spin or randomly will. quite annoying now. since despite others hitachi 7k drives louder seagate 7200's. i've had 2 of each drive , every single hitachi has louder whooshing sound.
