just started first mkv right now, , noticed make mkv recommended daspi kernel extension installed improve performance. know means?
osx use call ""os access mode" restrict direct access optical drives 3er party software, cause issues when ripping media.
daspi kernel extension allow makemkv access optical drive directly, eliminating problems related "os access mode". installing daspi driver won't change system behavior - makemkv not unmount or lock disc exclusive access, , disc still accessible in finder or other program.
