Bowers & Wilkins MM-1 Worth The Purchase?

looking @ picking mm-1s improve on standard mbp speakers. i've been looking @ opinions of them on last couple of days , there seems nagging issue - lots of static/idle noise in quiet environments. common issue across product or amongst select few? have pair , has yet experience issue/any other significant problem?

appreciate feedback before dropping money on these, stefan.

i bought them month ago , think they're great. owned swans m-10s , rokit rp5s prior these , i'm super impressed mm-1s.

@ low volume they're great. don't have fancy 'audiophile' terms liken experience on more technical level, have spent few years playing in orchestras , listening classical music kind of brings me exact times on stage again. nuances in voices kind of jump out @ you.. random shouting in background of songs might cause stop work, turn down volume, , wonder if called name. guitar strums make feel tuning else out , wanting listen music. there's no listening fatigue (constantly working in front of computer), , i'm pretty sure skipped few meals listen music first week got them.

few gripes had previous speakers were either big, cumbersome, or cables wear , hassle toggling between 2 different volume knobs (one speakers, 1 computer).

thought underpowered considering size.. bass rich.. doesn't muddy @ , adds wholesome 'depth' music doesn't end distorting experience. it's balanced sound i've heard far 'computer speakers' sure (and when 'computer speakers', mean fall strictly within genre).

if have cash, i'd recommend them. reviews true.. , still read them after bought mm-1s. they're pair of super-elegant speakers @ premium price, convenience , sound quality hard beat otherwise.
