Problems scanning using iBook G4 with HP LaserJet CM2320nf MFP

hi, i'm having frustrating problems when scanning documents.

title shows, have ibook g4 laptop, connected hp laserjet cm2320nf mfp printer.

problems have respect scanning multiple page documents 1 pdf file. when insert multiple page document automatic document feeder of printer, hp director dialog box opens , allows several scanning options; 2 use "scan" , "scan folder".

specifically, problems are:

1) if press "scan", printer scan of pages, but, when press save, saved individual pages , have no idea how merge them 1 document.

2) if press "scan folder", printer scan of pages , save them in 1 pdf file, but, when open pdf file in preview , go print it, crops top 3 inches of each page. note that, when in preview, can see whole page of each document; when press print , preview of each page shown cropping occurs.

have experience troubleshooting problems? have hard time believing there problem either laptop or printer because seems hard believe company (apple or hp, don't know which) allow such glaring shortcoming occur.

ideally, use "scan" option (and not "scan folder") because allows me adjust pages of document before save it, but, said, saves each page individual file , can't merge them.

doing wrong?

edit: well, after tinkering, found solution problem; seems saving multiple page document (when using "scan" , not "scan folder") jpeg file create file each page, saving pdf file create 1 file pages in file.

mods can close thread.
