hey,
i had problems computer.
was graphics card , it's fixed now, luckily covered home insurance.
anyway, after got repair, decided clean install , restore stuff want. (some how managed fill whole 500gb on years)
i'm in process of importing old photos time machine backup, since don't want complete restore.
going forward, don't want use timemachine function anymore, want have important files backed neatly in folders , files. way can access files through iphone or remotely via other computer. backup hd nas.
differences between having aperture photo library folders & pictures (a lá itunes it's music library) in photos directory vs having single library file? affect speed?
if there noticeable affect on performance choosing single library file, can how (automatically) backup photos library file in folders , files on backup hd?
if there no difference, have photos stored in folders on computer , somehow automatically backed-up external hd, periodically. there program this?
input appreciated. thanks!
i did searching on forum, , read this: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=975670
seems storing library off main hd might speed aperture. @ least if have external hd hooked through fast cables. wifi? have lacie network space 2. think wifi network speed 200mb/s. think about?
