Question about File Permissions

hi,

other day having around mac (relatively new mac user) , found in 'get info' window under 'sharing & permissions' section, user account account can read & write files created me.

below screenshot of default file permissions user account in lion. files create on mac have these settings.

finder - info.png

basically, know how file permissions work. example if create textedit file (like in screenshot) , account account has permissions read & write, happens if email file someone? error message of sort when try edit it?

have files stored on backup hdd (with these permission settings), if reinstalled lion , manually moved files backup hdd cause issues because original user account not longer there? hope makes sense.

trying understand how permissions work, hope of can explain.

:)

no. permissions relate mac. not affect other computers.
if move files backup mac, have ability change permissions whatever choose.
