Upgrading a 1.25Ghz June 2003 MDD to a Dual Processor?

so, i've got single processor 1.25ghz mdd june 2003. i've thought might quite nice somehow obtain dual processor somewhere or other offered computer built-to-order option , swap out. have 2 questions.

firstly, boot os 9 machine on occasion, dual boot 9.2.2 , 10.5.8. presumably having dual processor in machine won't problem os 9 booting?

secondly, , importantly, matter 1.25ghz dual processor put in machine? instance have dual processor offered june 2003 mirror drive door, or can instead nick 1.25ghz dual processor in earlier august 2002 mirror drive door g4?

thanks.

there no problems os 9. applications multi-processor aware, photoshop (but not filters), see performance boost. leopard, of course, make use of cpu.

it not matter in terms of compatibility. dual 1.25ghz mdd or fw800 module work. however, in terms of performance, dual 1.25ghz cpu modules pulled fw800 models have 1mb of level 3 cache. august 2002 model should have full 2mb, though. if you've never done before, here tutorial on applying fresh thermal compound.

@ similar price points, i'd try 1 2mb cache. also, can find deals on dual 1.42ghz modules. keep eye out too.
