app to test speed of my usb ports?

is there app make sure usb ports/cables speed.? external drive seems slow want make sure operating @ correct speed....or make sure cable isn't bad. on late '06 imac.

 

there's free app on mac app store called "blackmagic disk speed test" allows test speed of hard drive. if want test speed of external drive go file->change target drive , select external.
