Apple RAM vs. Non-Apple RAM

besides fact don't have purchase ram upgrade after order macbook pro, there advantage having apple-installed ram versus purchasing somewhere else? (amazon, newegg, etc.)

16gb of non-apple ram drain battery life more 8gb of apple-installed ram? there other negative effects?
