so after upgrading lion tried set icloud. easy enough on iphone. on macbook air, not easy. here's i'm stuck...
used 3rd party app (scrubly) clean address book. lots of duplicate partial entries in there! afterwards, mobileme/icloud seem want synchronize contacts, taking existing cloud data (which includes old duplicate , partial entries) , overwriting newly scrubbed desktop address book! not expected behavior!
make matters worse, every time sync window pops up, have option synchronize or wait until later, no option cancel or stop!
have read several people suggesting log out of mobileme system preferences panel. love that! unfortunately, when go mobileme panel, there no such option! can log in mobileme, takes me web site, prompts me move data icloud. i've done few different times now. doesn't seem getting me anywhere.
furthermore, when go icloud.com , log in, taken 'find' window no other options see of data!
i'm beginning think file sync 1 area apple never going right...
if have clean contact list on iphone, wipe address book on mac (but prior that, disable icloud on mac!), migrate mac icloud , let sync withe iphone's contacts.
