Bootcamp won't partition...

i have imac os x.6.8, 1 hfs+ partition. yesterday, wanted install win7 using bootcamp.
bootcamp gave me error message saying disc cannot partioned or resized. can however, partition or resize using disk utility (my hfs+ partition guid).

using partition inspector gave following report :

*** report internal hard disk ***

current gpt partition table:
# start lba end lba type
1 409640 624880303 mac os x hfs+

current mbr partition table:
# start lba end lba type
1 1 625142447 ee efi protective

mbr contents:
boot code: grub

partition @ lba 409640:
boot code: none
file system: hfs extended (hfs+)
listed in gpt partition 1, type mac os x hfs+

now, have installed ubuntu using refit couple of months ago, erased , went 1 hfs+ mac os x partition. maybe files weren't wiped (the grub thingy in report gives away, think).

now, wipe drive, reformat , reinstall , use tm-backup put apps , files back, that's bit drastic. also, used idefrag (demo) check drive , apparently, it's heavily fragmented.

ideas ?

to circumvent installing , restoring *****, can use carboncopycloner clone mac os x volume external, formatted*, hdd, boot that, erase internal hdd via disk utility , partition tab, clone contents of external hdd internal hdd , run boot camp assistant again.

*

if have tm hdd @ hand , has enough free capacity, can use that, won't overwrite tm backup folder (backups.backupdb) correct settings, when cloning back, make sure exclude folder.
