Will iPad or iPhone ever need increased resolution?

assuming ipad stays @ 9.7" , iphone @ 3.5" apple ever again need improve resolution of either screen (think 3-4 years down road) or @ resolutions of future? i'm not asking if apple ever improve resolution technologically yet rather if people see reason why should.

 

great question. when become "too much"? think in current form factor, new ipad stunning. not sure focus on making 4096x3072, although awesome. needs become thinner , lighter think....
