Confirm SATA 3 drive will work?

hi.

have 2010 mac pro which, understand it, sata 2.

want buy 3tb disk , of them seem sata 3. read seems connectors same , should work fine ( limited sata 2 bus speed, although unlikely problem hdd!).

can confirm understanding correct please?

yep theyll work. no hdd can max out sata ii, few sata i.
sata iii ssd limited sata ii bus.
