Garmin USA iPhone app (no sound option)

purchased garmin usa iphone app (2gb app) $50. works garmin.

saying that, 1 major problem i've had.

there no speech (sound coming out). when clicked on audio option, sound slider option isn't available.

wife has same iphone 4s do, , doesn't have issue garmin usa iphone app (the 2gb app).

rebooted iphone. tried reinstalling garmin app. sound option becomes available. after couple of trips, there's no sound coming again , once again sound option grayed out , no slider shown.

going on here?

happens, after uninstalling , reinstalling app. its's intermittent problem.
