@ end of tether , hoping can help. have been apple store twice , they're no help.
have personal gmail account set exchange. did since used push email (first iphone ....was blackberry user) , need google calendar , contacts sync'd.
while seemed work fine when got phone in october, have been having problems last 1-2 months. happens messages stop coming in and/or mail app freezes , crashes. i'll stop getting emails , when hit mail app, opens , says 'connecting' , freezes....then crashes home screen. if hit app again, populate new email email i've deleted! other day didn't email 4 hours!
first 'genius' spoke said problem had 'sync limit' set 'no limit'. told me had change '3 days' not bog down system. absurd reasoning was, tried (wasn't happy though need access emails older 3 days old). didn't help.
second 'genius' talked on weekend said it's issue affecting many (this after sat there , googled problem in front of me!) , should wait apple release update.....wth??? said restore phone if want. did , fine 4 days today it's crashing againrestored , set new (no backup).
what? set mom's phone same way , hasn't had issues.
did ask tech giving me new phone since mine 4 mos old said if did that, apple no longer offer me support.
i've had it. considered going blackberry phone. want work! wanted iphone ages.
can help?
i having problems too, such message counts not updating. example, new mail, delete them, they'd go trash, i'd delete them, trash still showed gray count of 2 no messages in trash can, after refreshing several times.
switched regular imap gmail in ios
