HP Photosmart 5510 Photoshop scan

hi all. know how scan photoshop cs5 using above printer on imac running osx lion? i've trawled hp's 'no-support' pages , it's massively confusing. i've tried using utility , setting scan photoshop nowt happens. seems scan, open photoshop nothing appears.
seems ok scanning preview & saving out that's rather convoluted isn't it? surely there's easier import>twain option that's missing.
