WiFi problems (read before suggesting I haven't)

i use 2008 black macbook, intel core2duo.
need more specs, ask , i'll provide them

here problem. have had wifi problems while isn't dropouts out of no where. seems when either far router or when many things come between 2 points drops signal.
proof in macbook alone. when i'm in home, keep mb in room router , incur no problems take out , signal disappears , won't picked up. isn't same ipad2 picks , works fine place in house.
@ work, have associate same exact mb have bought @ same time in 2008. her's pick signal of property's free wireless in office, mine not.

want it's firmware update needed or setting may on/off making difficult. truthfully, know may mb itself. have work fine in distance while others work fine outside of distance doesn't seem hardware issue.

appreciated! ask anymore info can give help. thank in advance.

since no 1 else seems keen reply......

sounds if have either bad airport card or possibly broken cables and/or bad connections between airport card , antenna....

symptoms describe consistent airport card not being connected antenna....

if borrow other macbook start sitting 2 machines in room router , hold down alt key , clicking airport strength icon in menu bar. compare rssi figures - "yours" lower (a larger negative) other macbook ?

suspect be...
