i'm having problem: want create windows xp partition on computer, running lion, bootcamp supports windows 7! of workarounds i've found involve using windows 7 install disk, don't have , not willing buy.
so: can go disk utility, create partition there, , install xp onto it? or there reason that won't work. haven't found commenting on doing that, want confirm i'm not make horrible, horrible mistake.
time!
edit: should specify i'm doing gaming purposes. vm ain't gonna cut (and yes, have tried).
if remember correctly, last time installed xp on mac, used boot camp create partition, when came time insert disc manually booted xp disc rather having boot camp set boot device.
edit: asked on mr irc channel, stated no longer works.
