VLC 2.0 & Handbrake not playing nice

i downloaded , installed newest vlc player 2.0. after installing error message every time try download dvd onto computer using handbrake. error message below.

handbrake not find vlc or vlc incompatible (note: 32 bit vlc not compatible 64 bit handbrake , vice-versa).

after downgrade 1.2 vlc able use handbrake again. else having issues? doing wrong?

i've downloaded both software , reinstalled, made sure both in app folder, , both 64bit.

 

i think versions 2.6, it's on imac....check site updates...i'm on mbp @ moment.
