quick question on lion licensing - note: i'm not trying round licensing or ask approval. know can use lion install disk no comeback if wish, want check if knows correct approach , avoid paying license if not necessary, or pay 1 if is. far, i've asked has had different interpretations.
person here has pre-lion macbook brand new imac bought replace old one. new imac has lion. want him upgrade macbook runs same version of software on both. know purchased copy of lion can installed on multiple machines same appstore account (which did own machines) not sure whether stacks pre-installed copy.
guess windows parallel pre-installed oem copy cannot transferred pc, while retail bought copy can.
however, says osx licensing simpler there 1 version , 1 license, hence question whether there difference between purchased , pre-installed copies of os.
(of course, *could* apple have had more money new machine if i'd recommend upgrade ram, disk , os in elderly imac, i'd rather things above-board...)
