how to make OS X Lion mail like iOS mail app

i ios way of handling mails, see mails last few days. how desktop mail app behave similarly, mail app downloads mails last 10 or days , if need search tell search server ?

desktop app allows me view mail, notifications on desktop, attach files , send mails etc...but may still use gmail web app manage labels , other complicated things etc. way can best of everything.

 

i don't think can desktop version.
