MacBook Pro won't connect to 2Wire 2701 HG-B Router....


i've taken on sublease has at&t u-verse dsl. router 2wire 2701 hg-b, , reason, macbook pro can't connect internet through router. iphone 4 has no problems, , roommate's thinkpad has no problems either. devices both connect without issues, it's not password problem.

i've reset router, left unplugged 2 minutes, checked connections, normal troubleshooting. problem somewhere between macbook , router. when plug in directly router, still can't internet.

more data: there coffee shop @ week 2wire router (don't know kind, know name of network) , there same issue.

how error manifests:

wireless icon shows it's connecting network
can't connect , displays "!" , says "alert: no internet connection.."
network diagnostics shows no connection internet

mac os x 10.7.3

help!
 

those 2wire router/gateway units absolute crap.

try changing password have $ before it. has helped in past getting mac on router otherwise won't play nicely with.

worst case turn off routing functions , buy cheap router somewhere.
