1. plugin firefox allows downloading video files out of youtube , other sites, if source.

2. cccp codec pack standard go to add full compatibility windows, flv flash files, x264, etc! un-check built in media player during install, , uncheck system tray icons.

3. handbrake easy use video transcoder. can take video files of format windows has codec (see item 2.) , encode x264. built-in profiles gear toward apple products, it's standard x264. using presets *should* guarantee hardware acceleration used playback on ios , android devices optimizing smoothness, scaling, , battery life.

drop video files in dropbox sync folder. when open on iphone/ipad tick star icon favorite it, on wifi, , cache permanently offline access. not using mobile data plan.
, boom, don't have touch itunes =) meaning don't have @ home. @ work, friend, family's house, etc.
