After beginning to use iChat, friends on Google Chat say I'm always on

title says all. began use lion's ichat google chat client, , since people have me on gchat lists i'm online, though quit ichat. keep browser window gmail open well, on that, google chat disconnected. have insight?

 

theres setting in ichat under general tab second 1 down under settings: when quit messages, set status offline. i'd make sure checked. guess, unless when sign ichat activates google chat in browser window.
